Prevention of cardiovascular disease
Results from the ONTARGET® trial demonstrate that Pritor®/Kinzal® provides the same level of cardiovascular disease prevention as the ACE inhibitor ramipril, the current gold standard. There was no significant difference between Pritor®/Kinzal® and ramipril in the primary composite endpoint of CV death, myocardial infarction, stroke, or hospitalization for heart failure.1
Overall, Pritor®/Kinzal® demonstrated equivalent prevention of cardiovascular disease as ramipril across a broad spectrum of events. Pritor®/Kinzal® was equivalent to ramipril with respect to the incidence of all components of the primary endpoint as well as secondary endpoints:1
